Our story
Munro Respiratory Services was founded by Kate Munro, a Central West NSW local with deep ties to the mining and exploration industry through Munro Geological Services.
After years on worksites across regional NSW, Kate saw a gap. As new laws came into effect requiring annual fit testing and silica awareness training for workers exposed to high-risk crystalline silica substances, businesses were left scrambling to find providers who understood both the compliance requirements and the realities of the industries they served.
Munro Respiratory Services was built to fill that gap. We deliver respiratory fit testing and silica awareness training to teams across NSW, on-site and on your schedule.
Our trainers and testers know the dust, the equipment and the working conditions because we have lived them. That experience translates into training that resonates with your workers and testing that holds up to scrutiny.

My role is to oversee the design and implementation of our Fit Testing and Silica Awareness Training Programs. I work closely with our founder, who has extensive experience in the mining and exploration industry, to deliver programs that provide information that meets industry standards and is clinically informed.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience managing health programs and care models within the NSW Health Sector. I have directly worked with people who have chronic lung conditions as a result of workplace exposures.
Having witnessed the devastating toll these diseases take on people’s lives, I am deeply committed to preventative care; after all, there’s no better outcome than never developing a disease in the first place.
When I am not at work, I love renovating, interior design and spending time outdoors with my family. With a four and a two-year-old, I’m always up to the challenge of making a delicious meal the whole family will eat!
