About Munro Respiratory Services
Our story
Munro Respiratory Services was founded by Kate Munro, a Central West NSW local with deep ties to the mining and exploration industry through Munro Geological Services.
After years on worksites across regional NSW, Kate saw a gap. As new laws came into effect requiring annual fit testing and silica awareness training for workers exposed to high-risk crystalline silica substances, businesses were left scrambling to find providers who understood both the compliance requirements and the realities of the industries they served.
Munro Respiratory Services was built to fill that gap. We deliver respiratory fit testing and silica awareness training to teams across NSW, on-site and on your schedule.
Our trainers and testers know the dust, the equipment and the working conditions because we have lived them. That experience translates into training that resonates with your workers and testing that holds up to scrutiny.

At MRS, we provide a friendly, engaging and professional service. We make your life easier by providing a fully mobile service and handling all the paperwork, so your team can get on with what matters.
My role is to oversee our Fit Testing and Silica Awareness Training services we offer. I work closely with our founder Kate Munro, who has extensive experience in the mining and exploration industry, to ensure our programs meet industry standards and are clinically informed.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in nursing and managing respiratory health programs within the NSW Health Sector.
When I am not at work, I love spending time outdoors with my family.

I have multiple roles at MRS, including administration, silica awareness training and fit testing. This involves travelling to locations such as mine sites and making sure staff have been fit tested with a suitable mask for when they are working in a high-risk environment.
I’ve built my experience through a combination of hands-on teaching and continued education, which has given me a strong understanding of helping people improve their health. I also have experience in geological field assistance work with our sister company, MGS, so I bring that hands-on experience to the work we do. My Bachelor of Nursing means I bring clinical expertise to the role as well.
My goal is to ensure safe and adequate learning is provided, as well as ensuring all clients are fit tested to the highest standard to provide the best protection.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and continuing to learn about health and fitness. I find it rewarding to help people build and maintain confidence, and to know they’ve walked away having learnt something.

Enrolled Nurse | Sydney
I deliver silica awareness training and fit testing to clients across the Sydney area. In my full-time nursing role I conduct medical checks across the community, and that hands-on clinical experience directly informs the way I work with clients at MRS.
For me, this work comes down to prevention. Fit testing and silica awareness training are some of the most important steps a business can take to protect the long-term health of their workers. I’m passionate about occupational health and believe that keeping people safe at work means looking after both their physical and mental wellbeing.
My goal is to make sure every client walks away not just ticked off a compliance list, but genuinely informed and protected.
